SUMMARY - Mulder and Scully look for missing trucks and dogs that sounds amazingly like the Nissan commercial.... AUTHOR'S GABBING SPACE - This is another commercial spoof that's pure fluff. They are just so GREAT these days!! I've been meaning to write this for a while, and just got to it. It's from the Nissan commercial where the dogs drive the truck around.... ENJOY! ***** "Another wonderful day of work," thought Scully as she walked down the hallways of the J. Edgar Hoover building to the office. She never really considered it hers, especially when Mulder's name was on the door. People walked to and fro around her, not really noticing her. Suddenly, Mulder appeared, almost running down the hallway to catch up with her. "Scully, we've got a case." Little did she know what those five words would lead to. ***** Belmont, NH - Same Day Mulder drove quickly down the road toward the Little residence. He didn't want to let too much time lapse. This was a hot lead. "Mulder, can you just go over what's been happening one more time? You said it so fast the first time that I don't think I heard it correctly," said Scully. "You probably heard it correctly. It's a little bizarre." Scully looked mildly amused. "You admit that this case is on the strange side? What is the world coming to." Mulder simply grinned. "One more time. Over the past few days, residents of the town we're nearing, Belmont, have been waking up standing in the middle of roads all around town. They had no recollection of how they got there, and all were wearing what they had worn to sleep that night. And, when they did return home, they found that one of their vehicles had been stolen and their dog was missing." "Any possible connections between the victims?" asked Scully as she flipped through the case file. "The vehicles that were stolen were all trucks, but other than that there doesn't seem to be any connection." Scully nodded and continued to read over statements taken by the local police. "This is going to be interesting," she thought. ***** The home of Al and Meg Little - 113 Grover Lane, Belmont, NH Mulder pulled up in front of the latest victim's home. It was your typical suburban home, complete with picket fence. He parked the car and both agents got out to go interview the victim. They saw that a local police officer was still on the scene as a squad car was in the driveway. Mulder and Scully climbed the stairs to the porch and were surprised when the door suddenly opened. A woman in her fifties stood in the doorway with a baseball bat in her right hand. "Now I told you stinkin' reporters to buzz off! Do I have to get physical?!" she shouted this while waving the bat in a threatening manner. "Ma'am my name is Special Agent Fox Mulder and this is Agent Scully, FBI." Both showed their identification. The woman lowered her bat. "Oh. I'm guessing that you want to see Al then. Although I have no idea why you'd want to see that bum. Come on in," she turned and walked back into the house. Mulder and Scully shared a look and followed. The house was about what was expected from the exterior. Nicknacks abounded as did doilies. The woman lead them to a room that appeared to be the living room. A man sat in a chair watching television. "Al, these two are from the FBI. They want to talk to you." Al grunted. "Hush. I'm trying to watch my show. Can't it wait for a commercial Meg?" Meg turned off the television as a commercial came on. "Al! They are from the *FBI*." Al looked over at Mulder and Scully. "So, what can I do for you?" "Mr. Little, we came here to ask you about the incident from last night," said Scully. "Look, I'll tell you what I told Bob, I was sleeping. Then suddenly I woke up in the middle of Donovan street in nothing but my skivvies. Damn embarrassing. Bob picked me up and brought me home and when we got here my truck and Boomer were gone." "Boomer being your dog," stated Mulder. Al nodded. "Yeah, how'd you know?" "Similar occurances of this same exact type of...sleep walking have been occurring throughout town," said Scully. "Look miss, I've been married to Al for 20 years and never once has he sleep walked. Snore, yes, but never sleep walk." "Mr. Little, would you mind if I took a look at the clothes you were wearing when you were found?" asked Mulder. "Uh, no, I guess not." He seemed a little baffled as to why a man would want to see his skivvies, but rose to get them anyway. A few moments later, Al shouted, "Meg! Where are they?" Meg sighed. "They're... oh forget it. I'm coming!" and she left to help in the search. "Mulder, why do you want to see his clothing? He was outdoors. There's probably only dirt and water on it." "There's also the possibility that there might be a clue as to who or what possessed Mr. Little to leave his home at 2 a.m." Scully looked skeptical, but said no more. Soon, the Littles returned with the clothing Mulder asked for. "You know, I never noticed it before, but these are all covered in dog hair," said Al. "And this is unusual?" asked Mulder. "Yes. Boomer never shed this much," said Meg. Mulder nodded and took the clothing. After examining it and seeing that along with the enormous amount of dog fur, there were several paw prints, he gave it back. "Thank you." Mulder made his way to the door, with Scully following. ***** Mulder sat quietly as he drove to the Belmont Motel. He looked deep in thought, almost catatonic. Scully wrote a few notes into the case file and looked at Mulder. "So what's your theory on this one Mulder?" He looked at Scully. "In each of the thirteen cases there were dogs and trucks involved." "Dogs? Why dog*s*?" "In each case there was evidence to suggest the presence of more than the dog owned by the person involved. Paw prints and large amounts of shedded fur, for example. But I don't see how they interconnect." Scully thought for a moment. "Were the trucks purchased at the same dealership?" Mulder shook his head. "No. The locals thought that it might have been a car thief ring as well, so they checked that already." "So the only links left are the truck theft..." "And the dogs." Mulder pulled into the motel and saw a dog sitting outside the manager's office. As they exited, the agents passed the dog. For some strange reason Mulder thought that the dog was staring at them as they passed by. He shook it off and chalked it up to paranoia. They rented two rooms for an indefinite period and brought their belongings in to them. Little did they know that every move they made was being watched. ***** "Ralph, I'm telling ya, this is not good." "Dusty, you're over-reacting. The FBI can't do anything to us. We're not under their jurisdiction, remember?" "It still makes me nervous. Worse then when that guy with the van came around. What was his name?" "I don't know. Tooms I think. It doesn't matter. Look, just don't go crazy over this. They can't do anything to us." "I hope your right Ralph. I gotta go. Leo's yelling for me." ***** Later that night - Oak Street Leslie Moore slept peacefully in her bed with her dog Fifi near by. Fifi sat on the floor, staring at Leslie while she slept. Suddenly, Leslie woke up. As she sat up she said, "I think I'll take Fifi for a drive." She put on her robe and grabbed the black dog from the floor. She headed downstairs and outside to her truck. She opened the driver's door and let Fifi get in. Then she shut the door and got into the back seat. She leaned forward and started the truck up. Fifi carefully backed out of the driveway and out onto the road. Music blared from the white truck as it whizzed through the neighborhood. Dogs barked at the truck as it passed. In the middle of the road, the truck stopped and the dogs rushed up to it. A door opened and the dogs jumped inside, barking happily. The truck made several stops until it was full of barking, tail wagging dogs. Suddenly, one more dog appeared in the road. The dogs looked around the truck for a way to make some room. They all looked at Leslie. Making their decision, they herded her out into the street. They all clambered back into the truck and drove off, leaving Leslie in the street in her robe. From the shadow's, a old man holding a small dog looked on and grinned. ***** The next morning - the home of Leslie Monroe - 212 Oak Street Mulder and Scully arrived at the home of Leslie Monroe after being notified by the local sheriff of what had happened. Several reporters stood outside the home along with deputies. Mulder and Scully flashed their badges and entered the home. Inside they were greeted by Sheriff Whittingham. "We waited on taking the statement until you arrived," he informed them. They entered the living room to see a shaken woman sitting in a chair, still wearing what she was found in. The robe had paw prints all over it, along with a ton of fur. Mulder looked at Scully and indicated the robe. Scully nodded. The sheriff began questioning Leslie. Her story was the same as the others, missing truck and a missing dog. "I just bought that truck two weeks ago. I was going to buy a Nissan, but then decided to go with a Ford. I felt bad about it, especially since that nice salesman had spent so much time with me too. Anyway..." Mulder tuned out the woman as he took a look at the files on the other stolen trucks. He caught Scully's attention and pulled her aside. "What is it Mulder?" "Scully, every single one of these trucks had been purchased within the last month." "Do you think they might be connected?" He nodded. "I think we should see where these people shopped to see if the connection may be there." ***** Belmont Motel - Later that day After getting in touch with all of the victims, Mulder and Scully had a list of every dealership they had visited while looking at trucks. Each list contained at least five similarities, the local dealerships. "There is a connection here Scully. We're just missing one small detail that would lead us to the solution." Scully nodded and took a sip of the coffee she had been given by one of the dealers. A nice old man that sold Nissans. Well, he did until he was laid off due to lack of sales. Then it hit her. "Mulder, I think it has something to do with that older man." Mulder looked confused. "How do you figure Scully?" "He was the salesman who tried to sell each victim a truck and he was laid off due to the fact that they didn't buy the trucks, well, indirectly." He nodded. "But what about the dogs? Why take them too?" "I don't know Mulder, but we should check this out." He nodded and they both rose to go see the man again. ***** "Ralph, we did just like you said." "Good job Dusty. And you planted the evidence?" "Yeah. Fifi's sitting on his back porch right now." Ralph grinned. "We're all set then. Wanna go for a joyride?" ***** Mulder and Scully were just about to leave Nick Chung's house when they spotted the dog. "Is that your dog Mr. Chung?" asked Mulder. "No, I don't know who's it is." "I do. It's Miss Monroe's dog Fifi," answered Scully. Chung panicked. "I didn't take her! I swear!" "I'm afraid I'm going to have to take you in Mr. Chung." ***** Nick Chung was released later due to lack of evidence, but Scully still suspected him. He was the most obvious suspect. Mulder was driving back to the motel later that night, when they saw a large dog driving a white truck. "Did you?" "Yeah, I did." Mulder quickly followed the truck. ***** The truck stopped in a clearing just outside of town. Mulder and Scully got out and followed on foot. In the clearing they saw all of the stolen vehicles and the dogs. The dogs were in a circle around a terrified Nick Chung. They stared at him and nothing more. Suddenly, Mulder stepped on a twig. It snapped and all of the dogs turned to look. Suddenly, barking started and the dogs scattered. Mulder and Scully ran up to Chung. "Are you alright?" asked Scully. Chung nodded. "They did it. The dogs. They took the trucks." Mulder looked perplexed. "Why?" The old man grinned for some reason. "Because dogs *love* trucks." END Hope you liked this.
